Carrie Parker, Coffee Ice Cream and PFY’s 200 Hour TT

Carrie Parker_pose copySummer may be in full swing, but it’s never too early to plan for the fall. The PFY School of Yoga is proud to present a new, improved and awesome 200 Hour: Find Your Power teacher training. We’re carefully studying what today’s TTs need to be successful, and we’re planning out a truly great and transformative experience. This amazing training starts September 30, 2016 and runs through February 26, 2017. If you want to find out more, the free classes and Q&As start now–the first one is this Wednesday, June 22, at 4:30 pm in Clifton. Stay after to ask questions.

The leaders of the Fall TT are Carrie Parker and Stacey Bell. They are wonderful yoga teachers and highly experienced TT leaders. They’ve graduated hundreds of yoga teachers over the years, and they’re joining forces to create a powerful program. Wednesday’s free class and Q&A is with Carrie. (Later ones are with Stacey.) You’ll want to take both of their classes and meet them afterward. RSVP, and it’s free!

We did a little Q&A with Carrie so you can get to know her right now. She’s qualified, supportive and fun. Here’s what she has to say about TT and life and dessert!

PFY: What do you love about leading the 200 TT?
Carrie Parker: Students learn more During teacher training than they could learn in 10 years of taking class. I love seeing our trainees explore the depths of yoga in a way that can’t be done in a one-hour class. The anatomy and philosophy bring a deeper layer to the understanding of asana.  So often trainees come to learn to teach yoga, but they leave personally transformed.

PFY: What do you personally bring to the training?
CP: I have been leading teacher trainings since 2000, having graduated hundreds of trainees who have gone on to teach in gyms, yoga studios, hospitals, schools and privately. I come with the philosophy that everyone has a voice and something to offer. It is my job to see that seed and develop it so that our trainees can develop a style that is reflective of who they are.

PFY: What advice do you have for new TTs?
CP: Be yourself, use this as a time of personal development and connect with one another. We create a non-judgmental environment so that trainees can learn in an open, supportive community.

PFY: Where did you take your 200 TT and when?
CP: I received my 500-hour certificate from ISHTA Yoga which stands for the Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda. Yogi Raj Mani Finger initiated me into the ISHTA Yoga lineage after training with Mani’s son, Yogi Raj Alan Finger.

PFY: What is your favorite pose?
CP: Any forward bend.

PFY: What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
CP: Coffee. My guilty pleasure.

Come take her class for free Wednesday at 4:30 pm, please RSVP.  You will learn so much about her style and her expertise by spending time with her. We welcome all levels to this event. We hope you’ll check out Carrie and our 200 Hour: Find Your Power TT program. Your life? It will change!
