Conor Murphy Wins The 200 Hour Teacher Training Scholarship
We believe our Find Your Power: 200 Hour Teacher Training will be the experience of a lifetime. We wanted someone really special and deserving to experience our new Powerflow School of Yoga program, so we gave away one full TT scholarship for this Fall. The winner is a devoted Powerflow Yoga student and karma yogi in Glen Rock. Congratulations, Conor Murphy! And thank you to our 54 other applicants. With so many great candidates, it wasn’t easy to pick just one.
“Being awarded the Powerflow School of Yoga Scholarship is an amazing opportunity for me,” he said. “One that reflects on how Powerflow nurtures practitioners and wants us to be successful in our endeavors.”
Conor has been practicing for 6 years. He loves the benefits–body and mind–yoga gives him. He says, “It has also been the most rewarding way of coping with stressors in my life.”
He plans to teach yoga when he completes the program in early 2017. “Teaching yoga will allow me to give back a little of what I have received over the last few years practicing in the studio,” he adds. He picks up tidbits of information from every teacher and student he encounters. And he wants to bring that love of learning into his classes one day.
We know Conor will grow in this Find Your Power: 200 Hour Teacher Training. We chose him because we believe he has great potential, and he will give back to the community. Stay tuned to this blog to keep up with his progress. He’ll be blogging and posting videos so you can see how unique our TT program is for yourself!
In the meantime, we asked Conor the really important question: What is his favorite dessert? “Nothing is more satisfying than a slice of homemade apple pie al a mode with vanilla bean ice cream paired with a cup of fresh hot coffee.” We agree. That sounds delicious.
We will be giving away another scholarship for the next Find Your Power: 200 Hour TT in Spring 2017. We’ll post updates on that here. But for now, we highly encourage everyone to join our fall TT class. Apply by August 31 to get our early bird tuition. Hurry! TT starts September 30. If you have questions, go to the next TT Q&A session Friday, August 19, at PFY Clifton. RSVP to attend a free class at 4:30 pm with Christine Joseph. She will answer questions at 5:45. She’s the assistant teacher, and she knows all the ins and outs of our 200 Hour TT.
