Free Classes for Kula for Karma

Do yoga for an awesome cause! Take our free donation classes, and we will give the proceeds to Kula for Karma. Kula for Karma is a charity that offers high quality yoga programs to people in need at no cost. They believe in the healing, therapeutic power of yoga, often combined with traditional medical care. Kula for Karma goes into hospitals, at-risk schools, substance abuse centers, prisons and more in the Tri-State area. All of their teachers–many from Powerflow–volunteer their time.   So get to the free weekend community classes throughout March in Clifton, Morristown, Ridgewood and Wayne, and know you are doing yoga for many good reasons. The most recent PFY teacher training graduates will lead these classes, and they chose Kula for Karma as their charity. “What they do is so relative to the community service vision of Powerflow,” said TT grad Melissa Giordano. “Kula for Karma gives the most vulnerable people a chance and a system of healing. We want to be a tiny part of something so extraordinary.” So far, they have raised more than $520. See Colleen Westervelt in the photo at left teaching in Wayne last Saturday.   Loretta Turner is Kula’s program director and also a PFY teacher in Bloomfield, Clifton and Wayne. Here’s what she had to say: “I can’t emphasize enough how important community is to Kula. It is what keeps us alive and well–from the community of our volunteer instructors to the community of health professionals and business leaders that continue to support us. It is exciting and heartwarming that we’ve been able to add on another layer of community through Powerflow Yoga.” We hope you’ll stop in and flow for Kula.
